The Choral Department at Mount Pleasant has a very rich and strong tradition of excellence over the years. The program is divided into 2 choral groups which are both open only by audition. To audition for a choral group at Mount Pleasant, please call Mr. Dean and make arrangements. There is a vocal class which is open to all students (non-auditioned). Each choral group is a credit bearing course which meets during the school day. The Concert Choir are open to students in grades 9 - 12 and the Chorale is open to students in grades 10 - 12 (must be in the Concert Choir or Women's Choir for one year to be eligible to audition for this group).
In addition, several auxiliary choral groups are being formed this year and those will include a Women's Choir, and a Men's Choir. In the near future the goal is to add a Gospel Choir, Jazz Choir and Show Choir. Students must be in one of the credit bearing Choirs to be eligible to be in an auxiliary choral group.
