All-State Chorus music

MPHS Chorus & Chorale Auditions

Auditions for the Mount Pleasant High School Choral Program will begin soon. The audition is two part - a written test and a vocal audition that includes sight-reading. There are different requirements for incoming 9th graders, current Chorus members and Mount Pleasant High School students, and then a third set of requirements for those wishing to audition for Chorale. A student must score at least 150 of the combined written and vocal test to be eligible for a choral group. Chorale will consist of the top (?) soprano's, top (?) alto's, top (?) tenors and top (?) basses from those students auditioning for Chorale. If one auditions with the Chorale audition piece, but does not score high enough to be placed in Chorale - but high enough to make the Choral Program - they will be placed in Concert Choir. The Accompaniment only version (Chorale) will be used at the actual audition.

If you are currently in High School and are auditioning for the Choral Program but DO NOT wish to be considered for Chorale - download the correct version of "Simple Gifts" below. For the actual audition you will be given the first note - and you will sing the piece acapella.
